What's up?

I am so far behind in updating this blog. I almost want to consider it a sin. This week I have a several things I would like to blog about. I will list them here, and hopefully I will do a better job this week. Catalyst, Macbook, economy for young professionals, Washington DC trip, 12:11 church service, fear, and faith issue are all things I will try and talk about this week. Meanwhile, I am feeling pretty good right now. I have been sleeping alot due to the overnight trip from Washington DC. Life is good! Do I say that alot? Anyway, have a great week. Check back in soon!

Dreams

I have been having some weird thoughts and dreams. I have never had to sell anything. I am dreaming that I am this master sales guy. I am making millions and able to do many great things with the money. Everytime I give it away, more comes back to me. Do note, I have just finished a wonderful play "Big River". I am not going to Hollywood anytime soon. This recurring dream is making me laugh. I hate sales. I like guaranteed money. I like salary compared to sales each month. I am curious to see if I could make it if I had to depend on sales each month. I have had many friends to do it. Just weird stuff!

Other recent thoughts:

Middle children are wonderful. People need to do more for middle children. They are always looking out for everyone else instead of themselves. I know there are exceptions. I love the middle child.

Health Care/Insurance is awful. I would like to sale that to people if the greedy insurance companies were not so awful.

School right now is weird. When you give the students a break, it is very hard to get their attention back on education. No answer right now. I am working on it.

Poverty is bad, we have to change the atmosphere from charity to equipping and empowering.

Looking forward to my Praise team retreat morning this Saturday. They are great! They are my positive adult interaction right now. More on that later...

I have not posted lately!

I have not posted anything lately. It has been busy. Right now, I am in a musical this weekend with East Cobb. I am fighting a cold as well. I do have a solo. Just pray that I will be able to do it. I have been helping with the basketball team. I think I may be going thru my midlife crisis of always wanting to be a coach especially a basketball coach. It has been fun. Lately, I have been thinking and praying about family, my students, and the school I work for. I may have said this before, but I hate when Adults fail children. I am seeing it a lot lately. It is not good. It is from satan. I have been looking deeply at myself lately as well. I love what I am doing, and I am very grateful for all the opportunities. I don't want to fail the children. I guess, I just need to rest and take a weekend off soon. I hope the holidays are going great for you. We are about 2 weeks out from our break. Happy Holiday's to everyone.

Update

Well,

Tonight I began my assistant coaching career by helping our 8th Grade Basketball Team to victory. We are 1-0. It was beautiful. I will only have to attend games with our team. I love the game of basketball and have a dream of one day coaching my own team. I have days in which I would like to teach bible and coach both basketball and football. My new dream job besides the one I currently have. I am the Chaplain for both Elementary and Junior High. Some days, I think I am better suited to coach and teach bible. This is just the time of year for teachers.

My mom is doing great! She has been sober now for a while. We look forward to the holidays.

I am back at East Cobb and worship has been incredible. I believe I needed and the congregation needed me to be gone for awhile. absence makes the heart grow fonder I believe is the saying.

Dating: Right now no one special. I have lost some weight here lately worrying about my mom. We are good, and I look forward to getting back on the saddle of dating again.

Update

Everything is going well with my mom. I am along with my sisters are checking in more often. She is very lonely right now. Last week, was a setback. With family surrounding her, may make all the difference in the world. Keep my mom( Her name is Mary) in your prayers. It is sooo good to have my spiritual family surrounding me during all of this.

This week has been a busy one. I spoke today in High School chapel giving my testimony of what God has and is doing in my life. It was good for me to talk to them today. I also led our Junior High chapel reminding them about being good and being God. He loves them and they need to respect him always.

Chattanooga here I come with a bunch of 6th graders. Another trip, which are great to connect with kids. I have found myself really wanting to focus in on that lately. I did receive an email last week which I probably took the wrong way asking how am I connecting with our kids. The person was just asking a question and I took it as a threat. Anyway, all is good now.

God is good! Shine for him today!

What has been going on since August 7th

School is in session. My new 7th Graders are great! They are so full of energy. I don't know if I can keep up with them. I love that they laugh at my jokes. Nobody else does! Ha! Anyway, School has started and I have hit the ground running. I had about 45 youth ministers to attend a luncheon on our campus to show them appreciation. This was a major project that has not been done and turend out to be successful. We invited 75 and got 45 for a first year effort this is pretty good. I acted as the MC and felt like I was at a comedy club. One lady had been in the ministy for 29 years. I asked her out in front of everyone. She was married! I didn't care, I told her at this point for me bring her husband! Everyone just laughed and had a great time. Things are still going sooo fast here lately. It was announced last sunday that I would be leaving East Cobb and attending North Atlanta where a good friend of mine preaches Don Mclauglin. I will be leading their this sunday. Please pray that all will go well. I know God is with me, and I love letting him know others are praying as well for Sunday to go well. All I want to do is worship, but I am sure satan will try to show up and I hope we will defeat him. Anyway, I will tell you more about this later. I am trying to buy a wii system for my office. Those that might not know it is a video game system. I have big plans for it Friday for Chapel. I am not having much luck finding one right now. Those who are still with me- the 42 year old is still trying to call me! What do I do besides find her a husband. ( I know be quiet Terry- What we you do if you were me? NO I will not marry her) Anyway, I hope with my move to North Atlanta that I will listen to God as I get involved there! Well, more later! Let God shine on you wherever you are. ( I include the 42 year old as well! Ha!)

I GOT ROBBED!!!!

I got robbed today. I returned home before going to my mother's house and my apartment had been burglarized. I can not really described the feeling I have tonight. Yes, I am still in my apartment. The Police was no help at all. It was though I was his way of doing nothing today. The apartment maintenance guy went beyond the call of duty to figure out how they got into my apartment. I had left a window unlocked in my bedroom and they took the screen off and push my dresser drawers to get in. They trashed my apartment. Right now he/they only took my digital camera, and maybe some checks. I could not believe it. My labtop was in clearview, my paycheck from East Cobb was in clearview, my target watch was in clear view(now I know it must not be worth much when a person is in a hurry). This looked like a grab and go type of crime. They were looking for cash. They went in my medicine cabinet to find nothing. This was horrible! I felt at the time of opening the door to my apartment very invaded. I am 36 years old and very rarely have I felt afraid until today for that moment at least. I wanted out, and wanted out fast. I sat down outside waiting on the police to come-45 minutes later. ( Ironically, I was with my realestate agent the day before and we set the alarm off in a condo and the police was there in 2 minutes) I guess I am back living in the ghetto of Atlanta. After being afraid, and settling down, I felt like I wanted to fight. They/He will not win. The maintenance guy will receive a letter and a gift card for helping me tonight. I regained my senses. I will continue my search for a new home. My lease is up the end of July. Up till now, I really have not had to many problems while living here. I had been warned by people to not live here, but I felt like it was the classic fear of seeing too many minorities living in one area. I needed cheap rent and it was very close(next door) to where I worked. Anyway, as the Sanford and Son episode which came on the other night I can say " I have been robbed"
